Regional Board
Social Action/Tikun Olam VP

Hey Hagalil!! I am Arielle Weg your 2011-2012 Regional Social Action/Tikun Olam Vice President!!! I am going to be a junior at East Brunswick High School this coming school year. I was born during the 1995 Great American Smoke Out on November 16th, which means yes, I am 15 (baby on board!!). I live with my mom, dad, and cat, Delilah, in East Brunswick. I have an older brother, Ethan, who is a Hagalil alumnus, and will be on Nativ, a yearlong program in Israel
Some of my favorite things to do in my spare time are talk about USY with other USYers (if you do too- skype, text, or call me whenever you would like!!), go to the beach, travel (I hope to be a travel journalist someday), swim, read, and write. I have a HUGE love for animals and have been a vegetarian since I was 9. I have had a fair share of pets in my life including a bunny, guinea pig, goldfish, and hermit crabs. I have had some pretty amazing summers these past 15 years including every year in Long Beach Island, 5 years at Ramah day camp, 4 years at capital camps and retreat center, and one lovely summer on USY on wheels classic that I am SO excited to go on!! (Bus C 2011!!) I have a life dream to move out to California and live on the beach.
My favorite time of the week is Shabbat, and I love getting together with friends for Shabbat dinner and in the summer, a dip in the pool.I attended Solomon Schechter Day School in East Brunswick from kindergarten until 5th grade, and then continued on to public school. I spent a year as the North/South Brunswick USY’s Religion/Education Vice President and a year on the SA/TO RGB. USY is such a huge part of my life and has been since I was a kadimanik that first lovely summer of 6th grade kadima encampment.
I love Starbucks coffee, especially the peppermint mocha latte they have in December. I love to ride roller coasters and go to Six Flags. I like to pretend I can play guitar even thought I can only play two songs, and I LOVE to sing slow ruach, which in addition to Havdalah, is one of my favorite things in the world. I love to run around singing “waka waka” and the Hagalil theme song.
If you ever feel like chatting never hesitate to give me a call, my phones always on (besides Shabbat!!) and Facebook is always minimized on my computer.
Peace, Love, SA/TO
Shalom, Ahavah, Tikun Olam,
Arielle Weg
