Seffi Kogen, Regional Executive/Israel VP
Hey Hagalil! My name is Seffi Kogen and I’m your ’07-‘08 Executive Committees / Israel Awareness VP! I’m 16, 6 feet tall, from Fair Lawn, and I am going to be a junior at Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union. I am the middle child in my USY-oriented family. I have an older sister named Navah who is 20, and is Hagalil regional staff, and a younger brother named Matan who is 7.
I spent my summer on USY on Wheels (Bus C!) and had the best summer of my life. I’d love to talk to any of you about Wheels, and will gladly point out to you participants on other programs. I love baseball and I’m a diehard Yankees fan. I am the manager (think stats, not laundry) of the Schechter Volleyball team. I am on Team Bass in my school choir. Some of my favorite books are Moneyball, Catch-22, One Flew Over the Cookoo’s Nest, The Natural, and The Grapes of Wrath. I listen to all sorts of music, but as I type this as song by Matisyahu just ended and one by Dispatch is coming on (Next up is a song by Beit Habubot, if you want to talk Israeli music, come find me). I also happen to love apple juice, reading jpost.com, studying tanach, and USY Shabbatot. At the next convention come on over and introduce yourself. I’m looking forward to a great year, and you all should be too!
